I will be appearing on All Bets Are Off today on Sports Time Ohio.
Be sure to set your DVR.
As I'm sure you know, ABAO is a 3-hour live call-in sports talk show airing from 3pm-6pm on Monday - Thursday. It's also on Sunday's at 7pm.
I will be joining Gene Winters at 4:30 to talk Cleveland Cavaliers and NBA basketball.
Big thanks to ABAO for having me. Thanks to you guys too for checking it out if you can.
Bill Russell was one of the people I could argue is the best of all time.
Bill's game his first year, however, was very similar to Tristan's.
Russell grabbed a lot more RB's, but that was the era.
No, I don't think Tristan will ever come close to Russell's uncanny ability to block shots, and I doubt Tristan will ever become as dominant on offense, but Tristan's ability to use both hands, his touch, his outside shot which is still developing, and his work ethic on the floor, remind me of Russell.
Anthony Davis is the only player I have seen in 50 years who could approach
Russell, and Davis is far from Russell at this point.
Tristan, however, can become an all star, and can become a 15-12 player on a championship contender, and that is all you can ask of a #4 pick.
I don't understand why anyone would, at this point, doubt the wisdom of drafting Tristan Thompson with a # 4 pick in that particular year.
If Tristan begins shooting FT's by seeing a circle a foot in front of him to aim for, and ignores the rim, he will begin hitting more FT's & his FG shooting will spike.
He has already made huge strides with his play around the basket, is seldom crouching when he gets the ball, and is often jumping straight up instead of jumping towards the rim.
I'm greatly impressed with his recent improvement, and applaud the entire coaching staff of the Cavs.
(Russell shot 44% in his career & 56.1% from the line.)
@BowersCLE Wow. Big time! Moving up that local celebrity ladder! I fell behind the Uppercutting Bus Driver in the recent power rankings.
@mikeclarkdaily lol. Still need a major feature like you had in order to make a significant surge myself
@BowersCLE baby steps... baby steps. I'm the living persona of Miley Cyrus's "The Climb".. an inspiration.
